NEWS: (Oct. 18, 2012) DePaul Law Firm persuades New York Department of State to reverse its decision to refuse not-for-profit incorporation to NUNY, an association of New Yorkers organized for the purpose of educating Americans about tolerance, diversity and the dangers of anti-Semitism. Filing for expungement of a criminal record in New Jersey is a lengthy process; be prepared to wait. Also be prepared to submit and re-submit documents over and over. The reason: clearing up the past is not the first priority of New Jersey's judges and legal system.
Most judges and their support staff have breaking criminal matters to deal with. So your expungement petition will be prioritized toward the end of the list of tasks for the Court.
One way to speed up the process is to get ahold of your criminal record from the New Jersey State Police; this requires a fingerprint scan through Morfotrak, but it is worth it. A common reason for delays in expungement petitions is incorrect information submitted by the petitioner.
Greg DePaul, Esq. will make you expungement application a priority and stay on the job as long as it takes to get all the paperwork right, move you expungement petition through the system, and make sure it gets to a judge's desk for signing. If you want to have your criminal record in New Jersey expunged, call Greg DePaul, Esq. at (973) 376-8585.
