When clients hire me to help them obtain 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, they are usually embarking on a journey along with at least two other "directors" of the new, non-profit corporation that I will help them create. Once we create that new, non-profit corporation, the clients will then be faced with a host of decisions which force them to define and polish the purpose of their non-profit corporation.
Once created, the nonprofit corporation will resolve to take a series of steps before actually filing their Form 1023 (application for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status) with the IRS. I help the client through that process, counseling the applicant as they go along.
I can move as quickly or slowly as the client desires, but I stay onboard throughout. This distinguishes my firm, DePaul Law Firm LLC, from mere online services that offer to file a Form 1023 for some unbelievably low, flat fee. It is unlikely such a service will hold the client's hand throughout the long process, taking the client from their first decisions to the ultimate goal of obtaining 501(c)(3) status. But I, Greg DePaul, Esq. will do that. So if you are contemplating an application for 501(c)(3) status, call me, Greg DePaul, Esq., at (973) 376-8585.
